PMC Physiotherapy Division 9 League Round 3, 16th April 2026.
Moynalty 2:22
Syddan 0:10
Moynalty made it three wins from three in their PMC Physiotherapy Division 9 campaign with a comfortable victory over Syddan on Thursday evening in Syddan.
Despite playing into a stiff breeze in the first half Moynalty made a bright start to the game and opened up an early lead with strong running from the half back line and midfield and sharp hand passing moves resulting in scores for Paul Lynch, Eoin Gilsenan and Cathal Donoghue. Moynaltys hard work in defence led by Richie Gilsenan and Michael Lynch laid the foundation for the victory with numerous turnovers leading to attacking opportunities. Moynalty finally made their first half dominance reflect on the scoreboard as Eanna Bennett calmly finished two well worked moves to the Syddan net within a couple of minutes of each other, to leave the lads in a strong position at the break.
Half time
Moynalty 2:09
Syddan 0:07
Now with the aid of the breeze in the second half as well as the introduction of fresh legs off the bench Moynalty pushed on and never allowed Syddan back into the game. Both Sean McMahon and Joe McMahon scored early two pointers, while Jude Gilsenan, James Lynch, Bennett and Donoghue all chipped in with points. A late Eoin Gilsenan block to deny a certain Syddan score was a highlight of the game. A great team performance was closed out by a fine point from distance from the returning Harley Smith with the last kick of the game.
