Moynalty travelled to Trim on Sunday morning in their fourth game in the Tommy Dowd Oil Division 5. The first half was a tough contest for both, and it was made even tougher for Moynalty when midfielder Anto Nevin was forced off midway through the half with injury. Paddy Byrne and Jude Gilsenan kicked two first half points each to keep the scoreboard ticking over. The lads battled hard and went into half time with the scores locked at Trim 0:06 Moynalty 0:06.
The game opened up in the second half, with Moynaltys fitness levels and clinicalness infront of goal proving too much for the Trim defence to cope with. Bryan McCormack found the back of the net 10 minutes into the second half, to open the gap out to 4 points. Paul Lynch and the hardworking Jude Gilsenan extended the lead to 6 points before Trim hit back with two goals of their own through the penalty spot followed up by a fantastic solo effort. Kian Lynch rifled a shot into the top corner to give Moynalty breathing space as the game management kicked in and the full time score was Trim 3:06 Moynalty 2:13
