Moynalty made the short journey to Carlanstown to play an amalgamation of St. Michaels and Nobber on Monday evening. Moynalty got off to a great start with some brilliant attacking play, hard runs from midfield and Will Smyth dictating play on the 40. The hosts weren’t long grabbing a hold of the game and had their purple patch ensuring a healthy lead at half time.
Moynalty rallied well and good second half displays from Hugh Gilsenan, Aaron Lynch and some excellent saves from Patrick Cussen gave Moynalty some hope.
The opposition’s depth and age profile saw too strong for our lads in the end. A great test for the lads in what was a competitive game of football with lovely scores from Aaron Lynch, Leo Kavanagh and Danny Gorman. The lads will take a lot from this game and carry with them further into the year. Well done lads.
