Moynalvey 4-16 Moynalty 2-12

Moynalty made the long trip to Moynalvey on a warm Thursday evening, with both sides separated at the top of the PMC Physiotherapy Division 9 table by a single point.

The first half proved an entertaining and close battle, with impressive displays in both the backs and the forwards for Moynalty. Padraig Reilly impressed at corner back, reading a Moynalvey attack brilliantly and forcing a goal line stop. Further up the pitch, Ronan Lynch marked his return with a well taken goal, and Dylan Farrelly continued his impressive run of form with an impressive chip to find the back of the Moynalvey net. Half Time score Moynalvey 1-09 Moynalty 2-07

The second half proved a much more one sided affair, with Moynalvey’s experience and high levels of fitness enabling them to turn the screw. Moynalty battled hard until the end, in particular full forward Cillian Gaynor proved a nuisance for Moynalvey’s defence throughout, and his two second half points took his overall tally to four points in the game. Full Time score Moynalvey 4-16 Moynalty 2-12

Unfortunately during the warm up, Nicholas McKenna was a late injury replacement with a bad hand injury. We wish Nicholas a swift recovery and look forward to seeing him on the pitch again soon.
