Moynalty 4:12 Skryne 0:11

Moynalty continued their impressive run of form in the Tommy Dowd Oil Division 5 on Saturday evening against Skryne. Moynalty immediately flew out of the traps on a warm evening, with Paddy Byrne finding an early goal as Moynalty went 5 ahead in the opening minutes. Skryne didn’t let this affect them, as they regeouped and began to kick scores of their own. Half time score Moynalty 1-09 Skryne 0-09

The second half continued to be a tight affair similar to the first half, with both teams defence in particular proving efficient at keeping the opposition at bay. However the game turning moment came when Joe Gilsenan latched onto a rare defensive mistake from Skryne, and was fouled leading to a penalty. Paul Lynch dispatched the penalty and there was no turning back for the home side. Paul and Kian Lynch both added further goals to put the game beyond doubt. Despite posting an impressive 4:12 scoreline, the standout performance for Moynalty was goalkeeper Johnny Lynch, who made several goal line saves to keep Skryne at bay. Johnny capped off his performance with a late point to add to his clean sheet on the day. Moynalty now sit second in the league table, with 5 wins from 6 and travel to Simonstown Sunday, 28th May for their next game, with throw in at 11am. Full Time Score Moynalty 4:12 Skryne 0:11
