Navan O’Mahonys 5-10 Moynalty 3-09
Moynalty bowed out of the Meath Cleaning Supplies Premier Football Championship Division 6 on Thursday night, as a clinical Navan O’Mahonys side proved too strong of an opposition. As the saying goes, “Goals win games”, and this proved to be the mentality of the Navan O’Mahonys side who registered their first 4 scores all as goals which gave Moynalty a huge hill to climb. Nonetheless, Moynalty fired back themselves with impressive forward displays with Christy Cahill scoring a first half brace of goals and points from Jack Farrell and Ronan McMahon left the half time score Navan O’Mahonys 4-03 Moynalty 2-03.
In the second half Moynalty dug deep and brought the game back to 2 points with half time substitutions proving a valuable burst of energy. Ollie Sheridan was the pick of the players in the second half, with a well taken penalty and two points to his name. As the game drew to a close and Moynalty committed lads forward, Navan once again found the green flag to put the game to bed. The loss brings and end to the campaign for the squad under the management of Joey Curley, Matty Bennett and Paddy Cahill as attention turns to the Junior B knockout stages on Saturday.
