Pre match there was a moment silence for the late Anne McCormack. A high ball in caught Moynalty unaware, with Slane capitalising to get off to a dream start. Fittingly, it was the returning Bryan McCormack who got Moynalty onto the scoreboard with a point immediately in reply to settle the nerves of the Moynalty players and management. Center back Adam Reilly tagged on a second however Slane gained momentum, as they kept the scoreboard ticking over and led 1-03 to 0-02 after 10 minutes.

Moynalty gained the lead for the first time in the match on the stroke of 20 minutes, as wing forward Dylan Farrelly scored a point much to the delight of the large Moynalty crowd on the day.
Falling behind inspired the Slane men in the minutes leading up to half time, and they weren’t long reminding any doubters why they were unbeaten throughout the year thus far, as they scored three quick unanswered points to leave the Half Time score Slane 1-06 Moynalty 0-08.
Bryan McCormack began the second half as he began the first, finding space in the final third and sending the ball over the bar to immediately level procedures. Kian Lynch’s constant movement was rewarded soon after as he himself got on the scoresheet to put Moynalty ahead again.
